January 6, 2008.
Stillmore, Georgia.
The weather is fluctuating, freezing then thawing then possibly freezing again... or moving up into the mid 70's.   Meanwhile, the seed catalogues are arriving and the itch to start ordering, arranging spaces, and dreaming of green leafy plants full of plump veggies are in full swing.  The compost is composting, the new garden layout is nearly planned and the seed orders are not far from being placed.
I am really excited about a few seed varieties I received from the holidays... they are from specimens grown, harvested, collected, packaged and labeled by my cousin Rick, better known as Gentleman Planter Seeds.  Then on top of that, on the back of the seed pack he tells the story of the plants recent history.  As in, who gave him the plant/seed he planted, where they got the plant/seed from, and how he planted/harvested the plant/seed.  The idea of the story of the seeds along with the fact that it is passed along from family members is going to create a fantastic experience this spring.
On the art front, I have been painting, working with some photographic images and preparing Mail Art for the Gallery RFD exhibition.  Ideas for the Art in the Woods 08 are brewing, drawings are being sketched out, mocks ups being created and walks through the woods are underway.
The 'Stones' from last years "Stones Collaboration" have continued to arrive.  The Sacred Space will undergo a few transformations but as long as the stones keep showing up the installation will continue to grow.  There are some amazing new stones that have been passed along over recent months.  That collaborative has been a beautiful process to take part in.  Thank you for your continued support in building that idea into a Sacred Space.
