Another Solstice on the Horizon

December 22, 2007 marks the Winter Solstice, either the shortest day of the year or the longest night, depending on how you look at it.  The Solstice has been observed since Neolithic times.  With ritual celebrations occurring over the past several thousands of years.  So, this December 22 while out for a brisk winter walk in the Northern hemisphere or a nice summer stroll in the Southern hemisphere, take note of the position of the sun, it's passing overhead and remember that for thousands of years, we have been staring up at the sky marking this moment in Earth's history.
Happy Winter Solstice.
