December 2007 Archives
Happy New Year. A new year, another spring approaches. A cycle of seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. A shift in weather patterns, the melting of snow, water meandering back to streams, rivers and lakes. Soon buds will appear on the flowers and migratory birds will be passing overhead. Another year of changes on our planet. This third planet from the Sun will continue it's journey through space. May you enjoy the ride.

Why must we resort to killing one another? Can we not find terms to live with one another, to project happiness over hatred and peace over war. Where does the violence begin? Is it our language, is it our diet, is it our faith, is it our actions, is it our thought process, is it society, is it our culture, is it our history, is it hardwired in our dna?
Happy holidays to all and to all a good night-

December 22, 2007 marks the Winter Solstice, either the shortest day of the year or the longest night, depending on how you look at it. The Solstice has been observed since Neolithic times. With ritual celebrations occurring over the past several thousands of years. So, this December 22 while out for a brisk winter walk in the Northern hemisphere or a nice summer stroll in the Southern hemisphere, take note of the position of the sun, it's passing overhead and remember that for thousands of years, we have been staring up at the sky marking this moment in Earth's history.
Happy Winter Solstice.
