balance, imperfect balance....
...the slide that occurs as the center point shifts, at times slightly, at other times in a massive commotion; falling in one direction, rising in the other.
It has been sometime since the last post. The lack of posting is not due to inactivity, lack of change, push or thought...if anything, it perhaps is just the opposite. Several fronts are on the move, however, none of them bringing rain to our small corner of the planet. The air is dry, the plants are suffering, the birds are seeking sources to quench their thirst and wet their wings.
I am thinking of reformatting desmundo...creating a gallery site for work and making desmundo a platform for raising questions, promoting thought and providing resources to movements of interest. I spoke with Nick on this who has already mentioned some great ideas. Stay tuned.
As for images, the summer has arrived...time is available to work...to paint, draw, photograph, and write. Most importantly, time to observe. Yesterday, I watched the sun cast its light down the well, illuminating the walls, slowly creeping to the waters edge at bottom, then crawling across the surface of the water and climbing back out the well. The water shifting from darkness to a cloudy sapphire blue, then back to darkness. A hole in the earth, at the bottom, a substance needed for life.
Politics have had me on edge, as events unfold and focus is placed on dollars...ignoring lives. Memorial day was spent kayaking with family, but my thoughts were with all of the families spending the day apart, seperated by an ocean, a desert, ideas, and political agendas. There is alot that needs to change...look back. Then, look ahead.
The Stone Collaboration continues to grow, stones are still arriving, the piece will evolve and be a part of next years Art in the Woods. For everyone that has participated, your stones are resting on site, in the pines of Stillmore, Georgia. Thank you for your effort. Your participation. Your push for peace.
This post is jumping around as I touch base on various topics. A curving road with various sites passing by the passenger side window.
We had several baby birds hatch recently. Last week there were several attempts at first flight. Little blue jays, with their ruffled, slightly feathered crowns hopping around the yard...testing their wings...calling to their mothers who circled overhead.
Nittie Nat the cat is growing, ever watchful, very curious, always ready to pounce and constantly seeking treats.
The house is growing, people stopping by for visits, it is building its presence...it seems to be a house of comfort and warmth.
Keep in touch...
