Days fall by like leaves from the tree

Tuesday, October 31, 2006 has come into a state of being through a somewhat transient fix. All Hallows Eve is upon us. The State of Oaxaca exhibition is only days away. Protestors stand strong, regrouping against the PFP; preparing to hold the line. Resist.
Meanwhile, thousands in Oaxaca have been laid off; they now begin to migrate towards the U.S. border seeking work.
Are we not The Americas? Why are walls being built across open landscapes? People have worked hard to remove walls- the Berlin wall has fallen and yet here in the U.S. we build.
Walls isolate culture, walls work against freedom, walls create huge scars on the landscape and divide people. Walls are not a symbol of security, they are a symbol of fear, a symbol of a regime, a symbol of isolation.
