Clouds crept through the valley...

and it reminded me sea foam, riding the current of the incoming tide.

These cold mornings have me thinking about the Andes Mountains. Waking up in the tent, knowing the cold that awaited any exposed flesh outside...being greeted with cheerful good mornings from the guide (Armando and Pedro), the porters (their smiles encouraging forward movement, their strength and agility inspiring your own progress) and your companions, all looking out with fresh eyes at a new landscape, a new horizon line. Watching the sun come over the peaks, the clouds having settled into the crevices below, slowly being burnt off as a comforting warmth returns. What constantly amazed me was knowing that the trail we hiked, the stones we traversed, were set by Inca's hundreds of years ago. That armies would walk these paths, that royalty would traverse them, that messengers with news that may turn the tide of their culture ran these same trails. It is truely an amazing journey to make. The cold weather brings me back to those mountains, to the people of Peru, to those cold nights and looking out at those snow capped peaks.
It is this very cold that leaves me daydreaming of past journeys that seems to have put a hold on the production of my work. Today I will strive to create more progress. I had a dream last night that I believe will translate well into a visual work. Then there is also the Constellation Series that gathers near the front of the mind, I feel to correctly make this work happen, I have a good deal more research to do on the subject matter. I am searching for connections to tie this work to the skies of distant countries I have traveled and to the legends from their regions concerning their astrology.
As for travels, images of Mexico seem to be calling me, and of course, I would still love to return to Poland, this time documenting a winter in this beautiful country. So much to see in the world, I must return to work.
